Week 41 - Superbowl Fever

The week started with the Patriots winning the AFC Championship!  The week ended with us visiting Martha's Vineyard for the MV Surfcasters Banquet.  The Vineyard was like a ghost town, with hardly any restaurants open.  Still it was relaxing and rejuvenating and with sunny days and Spring-like temperatures, plenty of opportunity for photographs (of course I was in a Church basement for all of the afternoon!).

Also, no flower shots this week.  Several of my readers were getting tired of them - so instead, I included a picture of my new generator!  Enjoy...

Week 35 - Christmas and Tebowing, Go figure!

Lots of holiday photos this week.  I'm still loving colorful shots, and holiday decorations and lights are a welcome change from the many flower photos I've taken during this project.

The week ended with a bit of Tebow-mania hitting the E-Streeters Running Club.  Looking forward to the Patriots crushing the Broncos tomorrow.

Week 21 - Pre-Derby Week

It's September and it is the week before the 35 day Martha's Vineyard Striped Bass and Bluefish Derby (www.mvderby.com for details!).  This is my favorite time of the year - the weather is usually great, the water warm, the tourists gone, and the fishing good.  What more can you ask for?

Week 20 - Post Irene into Labor Day

This week started out with New England getting wacked with Hurricane Irene, and ended with Labor Day Weekend on Martha's Vineyard.  Karen and I took my mom with us to the Vineyard and we had some great meals at Lure and L'etoile and spent some quality time on the beach.

Week 19 - Flowers and Hurricane Irene Arrives

I took a bunch of photos with my 35mm f/1.8 prime lens - I should use this lens more often as it is fast and produces some nice photos.  I had a tough time selecting each day's photos, some "interesting" self-portraits just barely missed being selected.    Due to Hurricane (now tropical storm) Irene's arrive, I'm able to post this week's photos earlier!

Week 9 - Nikon D7000

I got a new camera!  A Nikon D7000 as an anniversary gift from my (great) wife!  This week was my transition from the Nikon D80 to the D7000.  The D7000 has a lot of new features to learn (focus area settings in particular) and supposedly much better pictures in low light (better high ISO noise reduction).   So I'm going through a mini-re-learning process with the camera.

I never realized, until June 18th 2011, that Chappy  apparently has a UPS office.  Here it is, along with a customer picking up a package inside.  There are even "office hours" posted on the door.  The UPS office is conveniently located next to a porta-potty and a few abandon cars (not seen in this photo, thankfully). While not one of my best photos of this day, I couldn't resist making it my Day 63 photo.
